Upon entering the Esperanza Center and walking through its many levels and rooms, the interior signage and overall visual character of the space also seemed a bit underwhelming–especially compared to the energy of the group inside. From a strictly functional/design perspective, I noticed there were no visual means for guiding visitors through the space that were consistently bilingual. I quickly realized that the Esperanza Center was the perfect vehicle for a series of environmental graphic design experiments and exercises that, although hypothetical, would challenge me as a designer to think in terms of space, scale, universal communication, and graphical applications that are both audience-appropriate and consistent. //COMPLETED AT MICA
